Use #StandDown4Safety to promote the 8th annual event
WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced today that it has scheduled the eighth annual National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction for May 3-7, 2021. OSHA encourages construction employers and other stakeholders to join the event to promote awareness and training to address one of the industry’s most serious dangers.
“Workers suffer serious and fatal injuries from falls and have a devastating impact on families and businesses,” said Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health James Frederick. “This important collaboration with the construction industry encourages employers to learn how to better control fall-related hazards and improve their safety and health programs.”
OSHA developed the fall prevention campaign, as part of the national safety stand-down and in partnership with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, National Occupational Research Agenda, and The Center for Construction Research and Training. Since 2014, this collaboration has helped train nearly 10 million workers on fall prevention.
OSHA encourages everyone to use #StandDown4Safety to promote the event on social media, and to share feedback after their events and obtain a personalized certificate of participation.
OSHA’s Fall Prevention Stand-Down webpage offers a wide range of compliance resources in many languages, including Spanish, Polish, Russian and Portuguese.
Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for providing safe and healthful workplaces for their employees. OSHA’s role is to help ensure these conditions for America’s working men and women by setting and enforcing standards, and providing training, education and assistance.

Augsburg – Even if interlift 2021 should differ from past trade fairs in some respects - it will take place in October as planned! This was the clear conclusion of the last meeting of the trade fair advisory board and the VFA-Interlift. On the one hand, this is supported by the coherent hygiene concept developed by organizer AFAG in cooperation with the responsible authorities for interlift 2021, which will enable the world's most important industry platform to be held safely for exhibitors and visitors. The concept is based on the current status and will be continuously adapted to current developments (for details, see attachment and www.interlift.de). Irrespective of this, the vaccination campaign launched at the end of 2020 promises to bring about a noticeable easing of the situation.
interlift 2021: First international industry meeting after more than a year
For the industry, interlift will be the first real get-together after a long time. The current 300 exhibitors from 22 countries are counting on this. Among them almost completely the leading suppliers of components such as Fermator, Kleemann, Meiller, Montanari, Orona, Prisma, SafeLine or Wittur,. Together, they currently occupy almost three quarters of the 2019 exhibition space, which is more than encouraging given the current situation and the large number of trade shows planned in 2021.
Extensive joint ventures planned for the most important sales markets
In 2021, interlift will again present large joint participations. From Italy, the two associations Anica and Anacam are reporting a demand of over 500m² each, China is planning about 1,000m² like as last time. For the first time, a comprehensive participation from India is also likely to come to fruition; preparations for this are currently underway.
International leading decision makers expected at Augsburg
Crucial to the continued success of the interlift is the high quality of its visitors in terms of their competence in investment decisions and their high level of professional qualification. In 2019, the survey of interlift visitors by Gelszus Messe Marktforschung produced the following result: 87%* are involved in investment decisions, 37%* even decide on their own! Even if interlift 2021 does not set a new visitor record - the quality of visitors is likely to increase even further. The proportion of Europeans among foreign guests could also increase: In 2019, the share from Europe was 76%, from Asia came 13%, from America 8%, followed by Australia (2%) and Africa (1%).
VFA Forum interlift: The thematic focuses
The main topics for the VFA Interlift Forum have already been determined: In addition to new products and services, the focus will be on national, European and international standardization, international markets, digitalization and safety. The detailed offer will be provided on the homepage of the VFA Interlift e.V. and interlift 2021.
