Conyers, GA (July 25, 2022) – The National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) is pleased to announce that that its QEI Certification has been granted accreditation approval from ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).
Achieving ANAB accreditation is a demonstration of NAECs ability to meet today’s rigorous standards. This accomplishment is an indication of our commitment to providing the highest credentialing services in the elevator industry.
The ANAB accreditation mark is a symbol of excellence, recognized worldwide by employers, industry leaders, hiring managers, and credential holders. Since its launch in 2003, the ANAB personnel certification accreditation program based on the international standard ISO/IEC 17024:2012, Conformity assessment - General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons, has helped certification programs make the journey from good to great. More than 5.2 million people worldwide and counting hold a certification from an ANAB-accredited organization. For more information, visit anab.ansi.org.
NAEC is the premier association representing the elevator industry. The association serves the interests of the elevator, escalator, and accessibility equipment industry by promoting safe and reliable vertical transportation through education, networking with peers, and exposure to new technologies. It has long been a goal of NAEC to make its CET, CAT and QEI certifications easily accessible. QEI’s accreditation now allows NAEC to be that one stop shop for elevator credentials.
Standardization and conformity assessments have an impact on an organization’s quality, lead time and safety record. Additionally, interstate interoperability is made possible. Certification is increasingly becoming a preferred or required employment criteria or may be a condition from accrediting bodies. New hires may be expected by employers to work toward this specialty certification knowing that it validates their readiness to practice in the field.
“Most importantly, NAECs QEI certification indicates that an individual has the knowledge and skills to provide safe, and reliable elevator inspections,” notes NAEC Board of Directors member John Tolar.
With ANAB approval for QEI certification and together with its CET and CAT certifications, NAEC continues to forge its credibility in hoisting the qualifications of elevator professionals to the pinnacle of experience, safety, and distinction. Thanks to the efforts of the accreditation team, our expert board and committee volunteers and our valued members for this collaborative success.
“We are grateful to John Dodds for leading the dedicated NAEC volunteer taskforce who made this day possible,” said Rená Cozart, NAEC Executive Director.
