Can you participate in the CET™ program if you are not an NAEC member?
Yes, you can participate if your company is not a member of NAEC, you will however be required to pay non-member fees. For more information on membership please visit the Membership section of our website.

What is the cost of the CET™ Program?
The cost varies according to the option chosen for certification. The fees for the Grandparent Option are approximately $350. The first step for a company participating in the Candidate Option is to get your company’s CET-S in place, which will cost approximately $950. The total cost for the Candidate will be approximately $4,580 for a NAEC member, $6,965 for a non-member over the 4 years of the program. Once you become a CET™ you will be required to pay an annual maintenance fee of $65. These fees are based on NAEC Member prices. Will labor organization or military records be accepted for supporting documentation of field experience?
Yes, provided they are detailed in the description of duties and experience is applicable to elevator industry.

Is access to the Internet required in order to participate in the CET™ program?
Yes, the Internet is essential. The application must be completed on-line, testing is done on-line, and there are web-based courses that are required in the Candidate Program.

Can you participate in NAEC’s CET Program if you are a member of the union?
Anyone who meets the qualification requirements of the CET™ Program can participate. NAEC does not distinguish between union or non-union companies or individuals.
